Our Missionaries:
This year has seen a focus on Short Term Mission Trips by some members of our Congregation:
Georgia left first...headed out to South Dakota to minister to Native Americans. The group she traveled with took eye glasses, books, Bibles and warm hats to share. Each person receiving care was offered a bookmark with scripture on it.
Overlapping Georgia's trip was Mikey and his Grandma Ruth's Mission Trip to El Salvador. Their team of medical professionals and helpers saw more than One Thousand people as they offered Spiritual and Medical assistance. Each person came through a "Spiritual Clinic" where they heard the gospel before seeing the nurses and doctor. Many prayed for salvation. It was a wonderful week.
Mikey
patched up this little girl's scraped knee.
It is a blessing to be a "part" of these
mission trips through our giving and prayers. Laura Moore: Missionary to Ukraine. Laura has recently returned to Ukraine after a
lengthy period of deputation. Please keep Laura in your prayers. We have heard from Laura that she has arrived
safely and is asking for prayers as she returns to the ministry God has set before
her. Specifically pray that Laura would be able to get a car. This would be a tremendous
help for her in her work for the Lord.
In this photo Laura is wearing the blue
headscarf. There are many needs in the lives of the
people Laura works with regularly. She has asked for prayer for those in
her ladies Bible Study. It is a struggle to find the time to meet,
however, it seems that the women benefit from the times they make that extra
effort.
Ladies from the Bible Study Another way that Laura has been able to serve has been in assisting with a craft time for 15-20 disabled people
in her area. It has been a huge help to Laura to have individuals send
crafting materials to Ukraine for this purpose. Please join us in remembering
Laura Moore in your Prayers today. Jonathan and Susanna Cummings
- Santa Ana, Mexico Jonathan and Susanna have a real heart for
the people of Mexico. Jonathan serves as the Team Administrator for the
visiting Church Teams that come down to help with various projects. Summer
is a very busy time as this is when most teams are available to visit.
Susanna serves on the Worship Team and has
many other ministry opportunities. The Cummings are parents to five children,
including two sweet girls that are in the process of being adopted. This
has not been a smooth transition due to the expenses of treating various health
issues and some unexpected challenges from the birth mother. Please pray
for the safety of these girls. You can read more about the Cummings and
