What is important at Sonrise? The Preaching ~ Expository preaching is the "norm" for our congregation.
Senior Pastor Mike Galus
Associate Pastor John (Jack) Wilkins~
Relationships ~ are very important to our church.
From younger to older, fellowship is vital to our congregation.
Music~ Whether at Small Group or in our Sunday Services music is a huge part of the service. We choose to use a blend of hymns and contemporary music interwoven together throughout our services with Scripture, prayer and testimony to create a tapestry of praise and worship. Family Time Due to the busyness of most families during the week we encourage interaction between each family, and where desired other families on Sunday evenings. We know that it is important for the fathers to spend time in fellowship and recreation with their children and have set aside this time free from other obligations to do this. Whether they choose to offer a family Bible Study or get together with other families at a park or another's home this time has proven to be vital in strengthening relationships. We have chosen to include the entire family in activities and forego a Youth Group. Our
experience has been positively received by the teenagers and young people whose
families are actively involved in the weekly activities. They have enjoyed
the extra time spent with their parents, especially the Dads whose leadership is
so important in their lives...and who seem to enjoy games of ultimate frisbee as
much as the kids.
A Pleasant Place In which to Worship...
While it is not fancy or expensive, our sanctuary is a warm and welcoming place to spend time in the study of the Word, in corporate prayer and in song.
At Sonrise Christian Fellowship we know that this is true. We must Walk by Faith...not by Sight. It is not us who build the church, but God who will do the work, through us, as we keep "walking" in faith!
