I wonder what will happen in this year.

Maybe we will do more with our rockets?

I can't wait to see what 2009 will bring!!

Work on our Music together

Young People,  You are very important to the work of the church!

Your attitude is noticed, your friendliness helps the church to grow...

We appreciate your help in keeping the Church Building clean and neat.

Lets have a great year together!!!!

Hey People!

Why did you not yell at us for not putting anything here about Christmas???

Don't you know, It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year?

Oh.My.Goodness.This.is.the.week.of.Christmas!

We will enjoy our Christmas Eve Service on Wednesday Evening.

I cannot wait!

I love that moment in the evening when all of us make a circle around the church and each have our very own candle that represents the light of Jesus in this world.

We share the light that comes from the Christ Candle in the middle of the Advent Candle.

Then we sing Silent Night, Holy Night in the candlelight!

Way too sweet, I tell you!

Did you know that when you are a light for Jesus, it is because He put the light in you in the first place?  Well, that is why we begin lighting our candles from that center candle.  It represents Jesus to us during this service.

Can't wait to see you there.

Careful with that candle, o.k?

...And Merry Christmas to YOU!

Hey Guys, Fall is here!

Have you seen the trees changing color?

It is so much fun to go outside and listen...

just listen for the leaves to fall.

I took some pictures of things that we often see in the fall...

A campfire

Milkweed pods

Pumpkin and Straw

Red Leaves

Fungi on a log

Red Berries on display

Apples ripening on the tree...

Fall is about change...sometimes people want to make it about scary things...I don't get that.

Change can be very good!

Imagine if you never, ever changed your clothes...

that would be bad.

Imagine if you had never changed from a baby to the young person that you are today.

What else needs to change?

Our hearts!

We are born with dirty hearts.

They don't love God.

But, He loves us and wants to come in and change that heart into one that loves Him.

This is something I read that I thought was cool.

I hope you do too.

A woman was asked by a coworker, 'What is it like to be a Christian?' The coworker replied, 'It is like being a pumpkin.' God picks you from the patch, brings you in, and washes all the dirt off of you. Then He cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff. He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, and greed. Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see.'

Author unknown

I hope you have a clean heart this fall.

If you want to know how to do this,

tell your parents.

They will help you.

Coming this week,  in Sunday School Pastor Mike will continue to teach us about a subject called

Apologetics.

Sometimes when we hear this word it reminds us of another word...apologize.

...Saying you are sorry...

Thankfully that is not what this is.

We are not asking someone to forgive us for being a Christian.

Apologetics is being able to tell another person

what you believe and why you believe it.

(Remember that!  Pastor Mike might ask us on Sunday what Apologetics means.)

This past week Pastor Mike showed us a picture of a frozen lake.

Who was at the side of the lake?

Why did Pastor Mike talk about this?

Tell your parents what you remember from this lesson.

Here is a memory verse that you can work on this week.  If you can tell it to Grandma Ruth on Sunday she will have a Smartie Pack for you ...'cause you are soooo smart!

Psalm 119:66

Teach me knowledge and good judgment, for I believe in your commands.

Some pictures ~  just for fun:

Chelsea thinks she is a turtle.

Beware of Mikey.  He is coming through a big log.

Who do you think you are fooling, Mikey?

God Created the fish on the ??? Day?

You'll find the Answer in the First Chapter of Genesis.

See you on Sunday!

Have a Great Week!
